How to put a picture in text. ~Guide by Gabby

Hi guys, I'm gonna show you all how to put a picture inside of text on Gimp. c:

Step 1: Open a transparent canvas.
Step 2: Make a text layer with font & size. The color will not matter.
Step 3: Find the picture\pattern you want in the text. Save it.
Step 4: Open picture you just saved on a SEPARATE canvas.
Step 5: On the SAME canvas you JUST created, go to Edit>> Copy.
Step 6: Now back to the FIRST canvas. Go to Windows>> Dockable Dialogs>> Layers.
Step 7: Right click your text layer, >>Alpha to Selection.
Step 8: At the top of gimp, go to layers>> new layers, and select OK. Don't worry about the size.
Step 9: Now, go to Edit>> Paste into.
Step 10: Select your move tool in the tool box and move the picture around until you have it correctly.
Step 11: In the layer box we opened in step 6, click the text layer, and press the trash can. If not delete, it will have color around the rim, and it doesn't look to good.
Step 12: You're finished! Save as a .png (:

I had GIMP 2.6, then it automatically upgraded to 2.8, but i can't save as .png on 2.8, how do I do it?
